Both models are deliberately kept simple. They only differ in what is counted.
Master data quota
What is counted is how many unique VAT IDs you validate for the first time per period.
- Each VAT ID counts as new only once per period.
- After that you revalidate the same number as often as you like without using further quota.
- With the next period the quota resets.
Ideal for a stable customer or supplier base with little fluctuation, ongoing monitoring and many recurring validations.
Transaction quota
What is counted is every single validation, regardless of the VAT ID.
- Every executed validation consumes one transaction.
- Whether it is the same or a new number makes no difference.
- You pay purely by usage.
Ideal for many new or different VAT IDs / master data, high fluctuation and mostly one-time validations.
Master data counts new VAT IDs per period.

Starter package
You validate the same base continuously. In the master data quota each number counts only once per period, all repetitions are free. That is clearly the most economical option here.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two models?
The master data quota counts new, unique VAT IDs per period, repetitions of the same number are free. The transaction quota counts every single validation, whether it is the same or a new number.
Does saving a VAT ID already count against the quota?
No. Only the actual validation of a VAT ID is quota-relevant, not creating or saving it.
What happens when my quota is used up?
You book an additional extension package or wait for the next usage period. When it starts, the quota resets to the booked amount.
What are batch confirmations and are 30 per month enough?
A batch confirmation is a single PDF that documents the result of a complete validation run for any number of VAT IDs in an audit-proof way. Since only one document is created per run, a quota of 30 per month is as a rule fully sufficient even for daily validation, regardless of how many records a single run contains.
I need 350 master data records. Do I have to take the next larger package?
No. You combine a base package with an extension package, for example Grow with 250 plus Extension S with 100, and pay only for your actual needs.
Can I use Optimus as a private consumer?
Our offering is aimed exclusively at business customers and does not apply to private consumers.
Does the validation meet the legal requirements?
Yes. Optimus obtains the qualified confirmation from the BZSt under § 18e UStG and documents it in a signed, audit-proof record.
